A simplistic and catchy punk-rock song about the trials and tribulations of school life.
This is a simplistic punk-rock song. You can easily catch onto the repetitive bass line throughout the song, which helps you latch onto the song and keeps you engaged as you follow the story of a young adult navigating school life. Alongside the repetitive bass line, the drums drive the track forward grabbing your attention for a second time coming out of nowhere to join the bass.
“Open up my surface taking notes like whats the purpose of this class? I start to fall back asleep."
Additionally, the instrumentation, occasional synth elements are seamlessly added throughout the track. Though simplistic, Matthew effectively builds tension, gradually leading to a a crescendo that you can both hear and feel. The vocal delivery, fitting with the punk style, featuring minimal singing, and leans towards spoken word, complementing the song's style.
If you ever need to switch your mind off for a bit and get taken on a short journey, this song is highly recommended. You will easily bop your head along to the catchy bass, the drums will drive you through the journey, and the spoken vocals will explain the journey you are going through.
