A soulful and resilient song about love, Gigi Moss' soothing yet powerful vocals convey that while love may be questioned, nothing will change our choice.
The angelic piano, with the calm yet fast-paced hi-hats and snare rims, allows the vocals to clearly convey the message of the difficulties of loving someone and losing things along the way due to choices made while you were with them. The vocals are very soulful, indicating a sense of assurance that the right decisions were made, even though they may have been the hardest decisions in her life so far.
“Loving you, I don't want to have to choose. Cause even when I can't get through, it's for the way I love you. Can't love you but I do.”
The drums aren't as full-on as in other Soul and R&B style songs. A thin layer of drums, combined with the delicate yet powerful piano and a thin layer of strings later on, allows the vocals to be the sole focus for the listener.
Falling in love or being in love means there will always be sacrifices to stay and be with the one you love. Choosing between people you love and things you love becomes difficult, as things and objects come and go, but people, especially loved ones, help you through rough times and continue loving you back.
