There You Go Again - Dublin Rose

An uptempo song about heartbreak and trying to forget and move on from a relationship or a crush, knowing the difficult times a lover can put you through.

This is a folk and indie-rock song. Dublin Rose's vocals have a spoken word aspect mixed with the delicate melody she sings. The distorted guitars, along with the driving rhythm of drums and bass guitar, help move the storyline along. Dublin's vocals are more narrative, allowing the lyrics to form a story and help us feel the emotions coming from her during the song.

“Can I hurry up and stop loving you. Don't have a clue what you put me through. I'm tired of the late night fantasies. Forever dreaming of you and me.

In this world, dating is a fantasy, and we often fantasise or have friends suggest who we should be with. This allows crushes to play with our heartstrings. The slight distortion on the electric guitars thickens the chordal backing in the song, making it feel like there is more instrumentation than there actually is. This gives the song a powerful feeling, reminding people that a fantasy can break your heart.
